Let’s talk about lifelong learning. Remember that thing we all promised ourselves we’d do when we were kids? What did you want to be? An astronaut, rockstar or some kind of fab scientist who worked out how to talk to dolphins? Well, here we are all grown up and how many of you took a proverbial left turn at Albequeque along the way? What are you doing now? Are you still enamoured with space? Still noodle around on the guitar?

Lifelong learning is just that. It’s the act of seeking growth in our professional and personal lives. We embrace the philosophy that learning doesn’t have to be some formal arrangement whereby we are sat in a classroom or nowadays online in a program teaching us how to do a job for our organisation, rather than teaching us something we are truly passionate and self-led about.

When you are touched by something, you seek out more information. It’s a natural process. Lifelong learning is a never-ending journey of self-discovery. It’s embracing the stoic (and Buddhist) ideals that change is constant. Everything, including us, is in a constant state of change and whilst many of us may not be that fond of change itself — the growth and learning it can bring is boundless.
